I can't believe that Christmas is less than 3 weeks away. What happened? It was just Thanksgiving! We had a great Thanksgiving except that I had to work at 11pm that night. I had to nap during the day which made it go way too fast. We ate at my parents house this year, Dad K was not feeling well and we didn't want to head to Cedar Springs with Mom K. Addison sat down at the table and when asked if she was hungry, loudly proclaimed "YES". She then ate all of her corn and said "all done". We have been fighting with this child to eat for about 3 months. She refuses to eat dinner, it doesn't matter what we are having. Although she occasionally gets McDonalds nuggets and fries and eats it all, so we know she can eat. Dinner time at our house has not been enjoyable. We have had many nights of temper tantrums that last about 30 minutes. When Addison decides she doesn't want to do something she isn't going to do it, no matter what is said or done. Everyone tells us she will eat when she is hungry, but come on!! She has gone to bed without anything to eat since 3pm on numerous occasions. It doesn't phase her. I know it breaks Nicks heart and I think he gives her whatever she wants after I leave for work. She knows which parent to go to and that doesn't help the situation.
At least we are all relatively healthy now. I had a nasty sinus infection and was on Amoxicillin for 10 days. We all had a cold at the same time, but I was the lucky one with the prescription. Addison had her first injury with blood and all. I was cooking dinner before I had to work and Nick and Addison were playing. For some reason Addison has to be in the kitchen with whoever is cooking. Nick was trying to lure her back into the living room with promises of The Backyardigans, but it wasn't working. I thought she had left the room when I heard an awful thud. I am not sure what happened, but I think she was hanging from the back of one our chairs in the kitchen. She does this all the time on one of her toys, she must like to look at things upside down. We have really heavy metal and vinyl 50's style chairs in our kitchen. I turned around to see her on her back with her feet in the air and the chair on top of her. The top of the chair landed on her face. She had a bloody nose and I think the only thing that caught her was her head. I have never heard her cry so hard. It broke my heart and then I got to leave for work about an hour later. Before I left I asked Nick if he knew the signs and symptoms of a concussion, just in case (always a nurse I suppose). She was fine and even tried to get sympathy at school the next day. She kept telling her teacher she had an "owwie", while pointing to her nose. My biggest fear was two black eyes and a call to CPS. I know I exaggerate. I can't help it with what I get to see at work. She has fully recovered and we are anxiously awaiting the next injury. She has become a climber lately and hangs off of anything she can.
Enjoy the beautiful snow and Happy Holidays!!!

Hey Aislinn, Addison is so adorable. I hear you on the not wanting to eat dinner thing. My three year old Carter is one of those kids too. We have now starting sitting at the table together for dinner at night and we tell him he has to eat what is there. If he doesn't like it and refuses to eat it. We tell him he has to sit there with us until everyone is done and if he gets hungry later, that's what he is going to eat. He wastes a lot of food and goes to bed hungry a lot but he eventually eats it. It's tough, hang in there! Happy Holidays!
Hey Az! Glad to hear the little lady is alright, and the rest of you with all of your cooties going away! It's true...she'll eat if she's hungry. It's hard, but it's a kid thing. Mine eat like they have a hole in their stomachs one week and the next...no thanks.
Hey Lady!
Glad to see the update. Did Susan and I mention that we are blog stalkers? We've been waiting to see some new stuff. I'm glad to hear that everyone is doing well now. I know you've heard it a hundred times and I hate the words myself but it really is "just a phase". I can't stand that phrase :) I'd just like to let you know that you are not alone in the frustration of feeding your children.
Love your Christmas card! You need to update and put up some new pictures girl! We are all pyschos about our blogs, as you can see! We want to see more pics of that little girl! My kids eat all the time, I don't know what is wrong with your kids...so they eat candy and pop, that's not what you meant?????? : )
Happy holidays!
