I forgot. Addison had a doctors appt today, she has ruptured her right ear drum and didn't even make a fuss. I don't know when it happened, but I do remember putting her in my mom's car before we went to the mall on her birthday. She had a orange-red crust around her ear canal. I asked her if her ear hurt, I even pulled it and pressed on her lymph nodes behind her ear. She said it didn't hurt and she didn't pull away at all. Now she is on amoxicillin because she still has infection in her left ear. I can see it all now. TUBES!!! Every ear infection she has had in the past she has not shown the typical symptoms. I don't know how to monitor for ear infections if she doesn't have any pain. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know.

Thanks!!

Poor girl! But, it's a blessing she does not appear to have a lot of pain, we can only that appearances are true. On the other hand, her ruptured ear drum did naturally what tubes do artificially - so let nature run it's course, let the infection drain and then let it heal. According to most resources, once the ear drum has popped any pain that was there resides if not completely dissappears. At least she knows you love her! Give her hugs and kisses!

If she is not having pain, that is good. Watch for recurrent runny nose too. Morgan's nose ran constantly before she had her tubes. After, it was like her nose was shut off.

Well, I was so distracted by the baby countdown that I didn't even notice this post. While I have no fancy medical advise, neither of my kids show signs of paid when they have ear infections. Colin has only ever had a couple of them but Mason had tubes at 9 months old because he had so many. Heather is right on with the runny nose thing. Mason had a continuous cold for months so I kept bringing him to get checked because of his history. Mason's eyes drained too. Kind of like pink eye. Oh yeah, and congrats again on the BABY!!! :)
